ACA Speakers Program

The American Cichlid Association values the impact guest speakers have on aquarium societies and is pleased to offer the ACA Cichlid Speaker Program, sponsored by Zoo Med Labs. Live presentations enrich club meetings, but travel costs can be challenging. Through this program, the ACA will cover half of the speaker’s round-trip transportation, up to $200, for any speaker on the approved list. Clubs are responsible for all other expenses, including lodging and meals.

After choosing a speaker, contact them directly to schedule a date, then notify the ACA Club Liaison. Only 10 speaking engagements are funded each year, and reservations are managed by contacting the liaison who you can contact using the form below. The liaison will then let you know if spots are still available.

Each aquarium society may participate once per year.

To participate, clubs must:

1. Arrange the speaker’s transportation.

2. Add links to the Zoo Med and ACA websites on all promotional materials.

3. Provide an address for shipment of promotional items (Zoo Med goody bags, Buntbarsche Bulletin copies).

4. Host the presentation.

5. Submit the transportation receipt to the Club Liaison to receive reimbursement from Zoo Med.
