An introduction to each of the candidates, along with their ideas of what they will bring to the ACA if elected, will be posted on the website. Five BOT positions will be filled in this election. You will be receiving a ballot in the mail and may vote for up to five candidates. All ballots must be received by your Elections Coordinator, Ken Davis, no later than November 15th 2010. This is your opportunity to decide who is at the helm of your organization. It is as easy as marking the ballot and dropping it in the mail. Your vote is important! Please vote!!!

The American Cichlid Association is governed by a Board of Trustees (BOT), consisting of nine members presided over by a Chair. Four new members are elected from the membership each year and serve a two-year term. Elections are held in the fall. Any ACA member in good standing for one year or longer can nominate him/herself by simply submitting a resume to the Nominating Committee by July 31 of any given year. See the Bylaws for the specific duties of these positions. Many functions of the Association are carried out by Committees and individual members assigned to the task, e.g. ACA Convention Liason. Society business is conducted electronically and at a meeting held during the annual ACA Convention through a series of propositions that are voted on by BOT members. Here is a list of recent BOT propositions and whether they were passed or not.
