Can anyone tell me a good food that would bring the red out in my red empress.

Or Xtreme cichlid diet. But truly the best bet to get more color is to just give it more time to grow...

Look for foods high in carotenoids, some examples would be krill, shrimp and prawns.

Any food that contains astaxanthin is what you want.

Thanks for the advice. I was feeding them with Dainichi color supreme but now im trying nls cichlid fomula. Should I add some flakes and feed them a 50 50 diet of flakes and pellets or should I just stick with one brand of pellets?

astaxanthin is the ingredient that promotes the best reds, astaxanthin is added to Color Sumpreme and many other foods too (amounts vary)
astaxanthin can be purchased and added to homemade foods as well
natural foods with high astaxanthin levels are krill and relatives

my red empress were beautiful shade of red but only from frontal view with fish swimming toward me, when viewing fish swimming away he would appear blue, kinda interesting the fish had this ability eh
