'East Coast Gold' - A Most Appropriate Name

It's apparent that Ptychochromis grandidieri has a common name that is extremely appropriate. It is found in Madagascar along almost the entire east coast of the island. It is not as threatened or as endangered a species as virtually all of the other Madagascan cichlid species because of a much more extensive range and an ability to withstand saline conditions (brackish water estuaries, coastal lagoons). And the yellow-gold breeding coloration speaks for itself - pretty stunning.

Very nice! Dare you to stick your finger in there and take some video of that!
They look pretty good sized -- what size are they now and how big do they get?

Thanks Brian. At least they don't seem to have much in the way of teeth so I just might do that - NOT!
They are pretty much full grown, I think. The male is about 9", the female about 7". There is another pair in this tank, male about 9-10" female is closer to 9". Some references state maximum size at 10" although others say less (8.5").
