Monia
At the last meeting ( TBAS April) I was able to get some (bag) of Monia. I started a culture in a 10 gallon tank, and 3 days later started a second culture in a 2 gallon tank. this is the first time I have tried to culture Monia.
Moina is in the freshwater family Daphniidia ( Daphina ). It is a small freshwater crustacean that you can harvest and feed to the fish. Moina is larger then Baby Brine Shrimp and multiply raptly, it can live in low oxygen environment.
Right now I have started feeding my culture with yeast and some small ground up fish food. I plan on getting some micro algae in the future to feed the culture.
This is the picture of the 10 gallon tank with culture in it, not a whole lot to look at. This is looking down in to the aquarium.
