Tank Size for Carpintis

Would a 40 gallon breeder be a big enough tank for say Herichthys carpintis? If not, what size tank would you need?

a 40g breeder would be OK to grow out some fry but a single fish or certainly a pair or group will need a much larger tank.

They get about a foot long.

It depends on what you want to do long term, you could grow some up in it and even spawn them in it but eventually it will be crowded. They do spawn at a small size but to house full sized adults you will need to move them up into a bigger tank.
