Days without a "Water Incident"

Posted 08-16-2010 at 5:09 PM by aquamojo

One. Invariably I take most of my phoos while doing water changes. I'd like to say that I'm on top of it...but when I start taking pictures and something starts happening in the tank in front of the camera...I get distracted...and the next thing I hear is that sound of water spalshing on concrete.

And actually the behavior of the firemouths has changed drastically. I've seen some poof out their gills and they all swim together almost like a school. When I had 4 they all swam on their own and hid. Now they seem unafraid of the big wide tank around them They even go up pretty high to nab some food. I went with 2x6 lumber for the racks to accomodate a six foot span (two side by side 40 Breeders). I think this will be strong enough. Construction went alot smoother than previous attempts.
