The ACA sanctions local
aquarium club shows and provides an award for the best cichlid in the show. When a hobbyist wins a
cichlid class in a local sanctioned show, they are awarded points towards the annual ACA Show
Champion of the Year. This award is announced at the ACA Convention each year.
