So using this tank to grow up some Gynageo's, Festivis, and Giannacara Geiyi. Tank also houses a school of 25 HY511 tetras, 10 Red Arc Pencilfish, and 10 Corydorus Duplicus.

Nice setup. Once again we have similiar taste. I just traded some festivum to make room for other fish. The manager gave me a free geayi Friday night, don't know much about them. What's your geayis tempermant like?

It should be noted that true Guianacara gaeyi is a very rare fish in the hobby, I'm not even sure anyone in the US has any. Adults are bright yellow, and I believe the young also have a yellow tint to them. Most of the Guianacara in the trade are sphenozona or the recently described dacrya, which has actually been running around under other names for years. Determining which is which is especially difficult with juvies.

Here are a couple SLR pics, not used to Nicoles camera. Not sure how to keep the flash from reflecting on my tank. The acrylic needs a good buffing also, did not notice all the fine line scatches it has acumulated.
Also photobucket is being a real pain today so will load the rest tonight at work. Here is a little tast though.

As for the fish impersonating Geayi, we will call Cupid. They are very mild manered. There is some pecking within the group. The Gymnogeophagus balzanii now are a different story, they lip lock, shimmy, gill flare, and charge each other. They do chase the Cupids everynow and than but they have started to turn and push back. Very interesting and dynamic aquarium right now. The Festivums just swim around looking for more to eat! There is also 6 Nannacara Aureocephalus in the tank. They will be moved in a couple weeks to a 20 breeder I have set up. Planned on them going directly in there but the Corydora Duplica decided to spawn and hatch some wigglers. Gonna give them a little time before moving new niehbors in.

My girlfriend and I are going to look at REAL cameras today too. Her pictures blow mine away also. Gonna google SLR now!!
I'd say the Guianacaras are sphenozona. Beautiful species. geayi doe snot have black on the dorsal fin lappets like yours and less pointy mouth. Owroewefi also have very rounded head.
