Hello,I recently picked
up some of these fish to go with my tropheus, they are smaller and will need to be grown out some.I
really like how they(walk) on the bottom of the tank.Anyone else keeping these fish have any
suggestions?I feed them the same food as my tropheus.Cool fish!!!!! http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r.gif

Hope they do well for you
Malawione.
To date my efforts with Eretmodus have been dismal. They are cool looking
fish though. Best of Luck.
I had some Wild Burundi Erets. My
Tropheus killed them off. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif They were SWEET too! I now have some of the Blue spots
also. I love the Gobies. Their movements and facial features are cool and unique IMO. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I actually have a WC
group of 6 mixed in with my monster petrochromis. The petros completely ignore them and the
bluespots are fairly aggressive with each other. Spawning appears to be taking place but I have
yet to see any fry.
Try taking them out of your Tropheus tank and placing them in
another tank. They will probably do better as tropheus can make for tempremental tankmates at
times.

I haven't added
them to the tank with my tropheus yet, they are alot smaller than my tropheus,so I was going to wait
until I move my trophs. to a 75 gall. and mix them in at that time.I got them from the same guy
that LED got his from and he has his in with the Trophs.I had read somewhere that they make good
tankmates for tropheus and it has worked well for the guy I got them from,he has had three spawns
so far since mixing them.Interesting to me is the fact that they actually switch holders on the fry
and the male ends up holding them in the end,are there other fish that display this same behavior?
Thanks for the wish of good luck Bobr, they are very interesting fish indeed!! http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif How are you doing LED,how big are yours?Mine are about 1
inch and I have 8 of them in with 8 golden Ocellatus, they seem to ignore eachother, except when the
Gobys get too close to the shells. I might have to rethink the grouping of these fish and go with
something else if the trophs are going to be too aggressive? M1
Well, the Blue Spots I have
might be 1.25" or a hair more. They are doing well. Tell Oyster I got one mystery fish
though out of my group of 8. I have no idea what he is yet. He is growing faster than the gobies
though. Which makes sense. He is probably 1.75" or more. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif I will get a pic sometime and send it to
you two. Maybe you can figure out what he is since you know what Oyster has. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

LED,send the pic. when you
can,he told me that he was having trouble separating them, the guy does so well at breeding fish he
is somewhat overwhelmed with fry,he has 60 lithobates fry he wants to give me to raise and sell.I
am going to take him up on it and give him 50% of the proffits. Not a bad deal for either of us?
My eretmodus are about the same size as yours, they like to hide out in the rocks. They really are
cool fish, even if their face is a bit (Froggy) http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif
Well, their face is one of the
reasons I like them. They always seem to have a little smile on them and it is kind of funny IMO.
Much like Tropheus.
The issue with putting fry somewhere has been troubling me for years.
I finally traded a few groups off to Jim in Adel so I would have room. Opened up a few tanks so I
have some room to growout and spawn the Albino Taiwan Reef that I picked up in Texas. I have them
in 2 tanks growing out and I took one of my largest males and put him into a 3rd tank with two
standard TR females....hoping to get some split gene fry. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
I will try to get a pic of this fish
sometime. I will clean the glass and get one to send off...shoot for sometime in the next week.

I have had 5 Eretmodus
Cyanostictus (Cape Bengwe) in the same tank as my 18 Tropheus Duboisi Maswa for almost a year now.
They are in a HEAVILY rocked 55g, and they, for the most part, ignore each other. They were
introduced while both species were very young though. Good luck with your group.

I moved mine to a larger
tank today with a lighter substrate, and it made a real difference in how they look.

Thanks LED how are yours
shaping up!Mine are from the same parents as yours. Did you know that in Europe they sometimes
call them clown cichlids, seems appropriate with the constant smile they have for a mouth, they make
me smile too! M1
I only have 3 left out of
7......the 8th fish I got from Oyster is some type of mbuna and he did the other 4 in before I took
him out. I am not sure what he is. I am going to trade him off to Jim at the NE swap since even
if he is really cool I will still only have one of them. Kind of ticks me off that he smoked my
little erets. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif The 3 I have left are
doing better now since I moved him. Hopefully, they will really kick in and take off now. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
