The price sounds good but you'll be living with the tank for a long while hopefully. I've bought a number of used 100+ gallon tanks recently, dozens over the decades. Please consider a few things: How many braces are there in the top moulding? This will indicate manufacturer and relative age-zero braces=old, 2 or 3 braces in the moulding, top and bottom is much more reliable. I avoid all US-made tanks with "Euro bracing", IE braces made of glass. If you get a tank without moulding or glass bracing, definitely use 1/2 to 1" styrofoam between the tank and stand, the high density stuff (pink, blue or yellow) works best for me. Check the silicon, regardless of the brace count. Is it very firmly attached to the glass or can you push it back with a fingernail? Has it been re-sealed? If so, guess why! Any chips in the front or back glass can be a precursor to an incredible break. The moulding, top and bottom, contains incredible forces: breaks, gaps, splits in them can be problematic.
Lids and lights can be expensive to provide or replace. If you need them, measure and price them before buying a bargain.
Pre-made stands can be nice, if not solid oak or clear grain pine, consider their structure carefully (figure 10# per gallon). Particle board stands can often be a liability to even get rid of.
We've all had great cheap tanks and bad not-so-cheap tanks if we've done this a while. Be careful and watch the basics.
The $100 180 gallon (72Lx18Dx33T)without braces in my bedroom was spectacular for a year. The drip-to-slow-leak-to fast-leak-to-WHOOOOSH!!! was far more spectacular, unfortunately.
Good Luck!

$200 bucks is a deal Twobears. I would check all seams to make sure you see good silicone in them. I would buy a 75g with tank lids lights for that price. I wish I could hop on it. lol Best of luck friend!

The stand should be okay. Look to make sure the 2x4s don't look rotted. I've heard of people that had a small tank leak and didn't know and it rotted them out and when the next person put their tank on it !!BAM!!

hey rene..thanks for the intel on the price..im working with another guy now thats got a 135gl and wants $300 or best offer for it..too bad you werent close to me in michigan...lol..it looks like a really nice tank but ive made contact with the gentleman about the 120gl for $200 and its probably a done deal..hes even throwen in another 20gl lil fry tank for free plus the whole other system.the tank im getting is up and operating with just 4 small convicts in it he says are trying to breed.i get fish and all..lol..he says its a very nice set up,stand is oak, says it has one cross support on top so and the seal is great all the way around,no chips or scratches either but i will use the starofoam suggestion.i thought of even building my own stand from 1 or 2x10's and 4x4's for corner and middle supports with cross braces as well.i mean thats over 1000 pnds of water and with stand its 54'' tall..thats a little tall for me and im 6'2.id like to have it a little closer to the floor for tank maintenace.but he just emailed me and its a deal! this is gonna be a good starter ''LARGE'' tank for me..never had anything bigger then a 50gl long before..lol..big step up for my first good size tank but my fish are gonna love the room and my landscaping ideas are endless now..so thanks for everyones help and suggestions..ill up date when i get it and add photos when its alive :0)

Sweet deal Redman, I am happy for you and I am sure you will love this tank. One thing I have not seen mentioned is be sure to check the weight load to your floor. I use 4X6 beams with floor jacks under my big tanks. My fish room has 3 beams and 6 floor supports holding 5500 pounds of water and an estimated 450 of substrate and decor.
