fry are about .5 -
.75" $5 apiece. Shipping prices are pretty cheap for small boxes. I will post pictures of
the parents this weekend hopefully. Kyle

Madison huh? Go
Badgers! Priority shipping would take two days and be about $15. Express would be next day
delivery for about $25. It seems that your personal messanger is disabled or your box is full
i tried to PM you but it didn't work.

Kyle
yep, Go
Badgers. i just signed up and i have looked, but i don't seem to have message box access.
anyway, here is my email dbiggs "at" entomology.wisc.edu
i actually
don't have much experience with cichlids. i have only ever kept some Oreochromis that i
captured once. i am interested in these fish because we are working on setting up a Pacific Slope
Mexico river biotope at a public garden and we wish to get a better idea of the behavior and
demands of this species.
your adults look different from the ones in the river down in
Mexico. do they always have those dark bars, or is that just breeding coloration?
thanks
again!

Hey im back from Honduras.
We had a great trip I got a lot of new fish. Yes the breeding coloration is different. Have you
seen this species in their natural habitat? Which river are you referring to? Their is supposedly a
couple different color morphs of Istlanum in the wild but i think i remember hearing that it is
just due to diet and they are actually all the same fish.

i
refer to the Rio Ayuquila in Jalisco and Colima states. i have actually run into some more pictures
of fish from that stream and there were some with breeding coloration that looked just like yours.
i think i might like to go ahead and get just three fish. i am leaving town (going to Mexico!)
in just ten days, so we'll either have to do it right away or wait till i get back. if you can
hang onto them for me it might be better to wait. let me know what you think.

I can wait for you to
return no problem. Will you be doing any collecting down there? If so what species do you plan to
collect?
