Webmaster or assistant webmasters,

I have asked to be removed from ACA members list. This would prevent me from viewing ACA member posts within ACA member section on this forum. To date, I have not been removed. Please remove me as a member asap.

There is plenty of information about cichlids in non member section that is available to all without becoming an ACA member.

Bob , This might take awhile, the web-master is on a break. When he is able, I'm sure he will do this. I don't have the access to perform that task.

I hope you reconsider what your asking, the ACA members section needs you too.

Overreacting much Bob? You have made your point, we get it. If you really want to quit just leave quietly, or not log in. Problem solved.

Or you can just relax, stop trying to create conflict, raise your fish, and be happy. There are no Hybrids being delivered with the next BB, that you will be forced to raise and show at the convention.

Happy Thanksgiving

Seriously give it a rest please. Why would someone ask to be removed and then log in to check?

Chris,
You wanted to call the bluff of those who do not want hybrids in ACA when you proposed the prop. You called my bluff and now you do not like the look of what happened. Stop whining and accept the consequences of your actions.

To determine if in fact my membership has been terminatied.

Try to remember Mike that there are two areas on this website. One is for ACA members only and another section is for non ACA members. Are you suggesting I should not log into non ACA members section?

I'm not whining Bob, if you quit why are your still here? Stop causing further drama.

If you really meant to quit, instead of trying to cause a scene, you would be gone, and never looked back. Yet you have started 2 threads and continue to post and post and post, after your were said you were leaving.

Honestly Bob I don't want you to go anywhere but if this is what you want just do it and don't make such a big stink about it. If I were going to stop supporting the ACA I would just stop supporting and be done with it and I'm not saying thats what I want you to do because its not. I think of you as a huge asset to this club and want you to stick around. So please reconsider my friend.

Chris,
I quit the ACA you created with passage of your prop. I did not crawl into a hole and die.
Removal as an ACA member will not prevent me from expressing my opinions of the prop you and other BOT members voted for. Current BOT voted for an open discussion of issues. However, whenever the discussion turns against some of you, the whine of drama and drawing the issue out is used.
If there is drama here, your prop started it, not me.

Hope you reconsider - you do add quality content. There will always be people within any club with the interests and direction you share, and those who do not.

I would not want Bob to leave (I have enjoyed my confrontations with him) but,
I always believed that with one of our founding fathers that "there is never a topic so dangerous not to warrent discussion"
As well as " if the will of the people chooses the path we take than we must either work together to make things better or we will be like the tree who's roots can't expand will perish"

Rob, those are both great quotes. Our liberty has come at a terrible price most folks don't remember and even more don't respect.
I don't want to see our ACA's numbers erode any further than they have, especially if those erosions include members who make important contributions to our club, hobby and our knowedge base.
I wasn't aware that we have to agree with every single thing in the ACA. Leaving the ACA is certainly an option for any of us as this is not communist China. If we DO have to agree with every single thing, we'll split into the 400-some odd clubs I proposed before. And while we are at it, if we had to agree with every law in our country or leave, most of us would leave. Where to, I have no idea (or I'd already be there) but I think we are a democracy, both as associates and countrymen. While we don't get to vote on each issue, we periodically do get to vote on those who do vote on each issue.
It looks like our BOT voted to strengthen our position towards wild caught types, something the majority of us DO agree on. This was not a binary, all right or all wrong position stance and for this I am glad. Life is about the shades of gray, IMO. As fishkeepers, we may drift towards being purists, or we may not, again, it is a choice. A binary stance in any direction would alienate some members, again, eroding our membership further. Thank you, BOT voters.
Bob, I wish I'd stopped in to see you at the OCA, I definitely recognise your importance in the ACA and especially the C.A.R.E.S. PROGRAM. You have been an important contributor and you will be missed.
I was raised to never run FROM, but to walk TOWARDS. I wonder what the "wild-type" proponents will walk towards. If there is a better cichlid conservation effort available in our world, I'd happily join it as well and hope I'd still be welcome in the ACA. If multiple memberships in aquarium clubs are a problem, most of us would have some hard choices to make. If I HAVE to side with one facet of one club, it will be with Claudia's C.A.R.E.S. program.
The ebb and flow is what sustains and even creates life. Old die and new are born. We only object when we are in the former group.

Thanks MO

I think the problem is that some of our members aren't willing to accept any type of change. What is so wrong with trying this out? I hear so many members complaining about this fish or that fish not being wild and not deserving best in division or whatnot. At least now if any doubt should surface regarding a particular fish it goes into an ornamental class and still has a chance to win an award. Of course then some fish may cause a bit of controversy but hey that might be a good thing. Gets Folks talking and gossiping lol.

I'm assuming you mean Chris B? No matter. Attention hunger doesn't equate to "messenger." Quit or don't quit. Who cares anymore? It's a fish club people.

Please, everyone, go to a movie or read a book. We've got enough drama here. Some people are happy -- some aren't. GOT IT! Most just want everyone to shut up about it since it seems impossible to have a rational back and forth without people feeling the need to exercise their inner demons.

This is the most drama filled ANTI-DRAMA post I've ever seen!!!
Seriously though I don't consider this a fish Club.... I wouldn't have joined if I considered the ACA a club Im already a member of one of the best fish clubs there is! I joined the ACA because if the vast amount of information that can be found here via, the forum, conventions and just by asking around.... No you can't make everyone happy but I think hybrids are going to be the thorn that does damage to the ACA in the long run. Now that the BOT as made a decision (Like it or hate it) it's time for the club to accept it and move on. Quitting isn't an option as a matter of fact get involved by finding out who voted which way and then next year if you don't like the way they voted, vote em out. Just ask the Democrats how that works! I'm against the ACA giving any face time to hybrids... but that didn't happen so now I'll get over it, till the next round of elections!
We need more Deans, Mullets and BOB's to run next time!

And yet the ACA for years has given face time to all sorts of excepted hybrids. Apparently the fish known as an oscar, convict, angelfish, discus, half the peacocks in the hobby, etc all get a pass.

Hybrids are not the ACA's problem. It runs much deeper then that.

Absolutely! That's the correct way to look at things.

The more candidates the better! Running and winning are two different things though. I spent a lot of time reading some of the posts of this past election's candidates trying to get a feel for the way they think and handle themselves. I wonder how the next candidates will fare from such an exercise? I suggest anyone who wants to be elected to the next BOT take extra care in the manner in which they behave on this and other cichlid forums.

Dan are you thinking about running in the next election? I feel that a woman's voice On the BOT of the ACA would help immensely. Their is plenty of time to decide, I very much would like it if you would. You would Deftly would have MY VOTE. :)
