Hey Gang
I don't know if this is a sign of a problem but my peacocks (M&F), Haps and Mbunas have all been diving down and smacking their bodies against this large piece of slate that I refer to as breeding rock.
This slate is suspended above the bottom across two rocks forming a bridge.
I don't see anything wrong with the fish and they don't seem to hurting themselves.
Is this somthing I need to watch?
By the way the tank gets water changes (30% twice a week)

Are they scratching themselves on it?

Sounds like a possible parastic infection.

Striking their bodies against objects is sometimes referred to as flashing. Usually it's the onset of ich. Use a good flashlight and view the fish from the side giving special attention to the fins.

Spots? Raise the temp at least above 80°F and treat with Quick Cure for at least three days even if the spots disappear.

No spots? If they were my fish I'd treat anyway.

Definitely sounds like flashing, do a water change too!
I have had success with Lifeguard tablets also.
