I just got an F0 trio of

Met. Gaela(sp.?) White Top Hara. They look a lot like the pics I've seen of Met. sp. Blue

Reef. Same barring and what not. My Hara are a bit whiter than pictures I've seen though.

Anyone know if they are the same fish?

Turns out the pics I saw

that were labeled "Blue Reef" were mislabled.

From the research

I've be asking around, seems they are indeed the same fish.

Cichlid News (http://www.cichlidnews.com) check out January 2004. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif Hows the group doing Jason?

I forgot to post here, on

the info I found out. Ad Konings was kind enough to answer just about every question I had

regarding these guys. They are indeed the same fish. I'm not sure why people are calling

these fish "Blue Reef", when there is already a Pseudotropheus sp. Blue Reef. This sort

of stuff just adds to the confussion of our hobby.

Anyway, Ad informed me that since

writing of his his dive at Gallireya (the article in Cichlid News you refrenced), he has had a

chance to exam the teeth of this fish. They are (insert dramatic pause) conical. He is now

describing it as a Cynotilapia, which he mentioned as a posibility in the article. So, the

correct name for the fish is Cynotilapia sp. white top hara (Gallireya), although Old World has

them listed as Ps. zebra hara white top Galilea.

As far as my group goes, like most of

my fish room, they had a very uneventful summer. They did however spawn last week http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif. I'm not sure if it was the change in

weather that triggered it, or the fact that I was really busy, and didn't have time to do water

changes for a few weeks.
