I purchased the "rare" German book advertised in this section. Paid promptly by PayPal and then got a song and dance about shipping.(family problems- Okay, I'll wait). After waiting months and multiple emails, I STILL haven't received the book.

It's not the first time I've been ripped off by an ACA member but it bugs me still.

I've still got the info here somewhere. I've just sort of written it off. It wasn't over $100 or I would have pursued it another way.

I noticed the post about a new African cichlid book and then saw the post still on the first page of threads. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have brought it up.

I think he would have had to be an ACA member at the time the ad was posted. I think access for reading was okay for free but listing required membership.

Like I said before, he didn't get a cherry. Most of those people don't show up here though. I've grown to where it amuses me how people hold some of these guys, it approaches reverence.

I DO think it important for people to use caution when dealing with someone they don't know. Place a smaller trial order prior to opening up your savings account. Ask for references or use an intermediary.
