I took a bunch of CA/SA cichlids...some Pike photos and some of the African tanks...as well as some full tank shots.
Just got back home and started looking at some of the photos. Here's one of a very nice Lyonsi...a beautiful cichlid...now extinct in the wild.

I picked up some very nice fish....F1 Theraps wesseli and very excited about a new species of Zonatus type Vieja from Rio Carolina. Apparently it looks similar to the Zonatum...but with a very nice red tail. Looking forward to photographing them as they grow.
The amount of fish that were there and available was AMAZING. Great time. More photos later.

A few more...a few more later tonight when I get the watermark on them and the Digimarc data embedded.

Anyone who was at the convention might agree that the pictures of the fish looked better (color and clarity) than did the actual fish in the show. It was dark in the room. The big flash made a difference.

I happen to like nasty fish. Got a bunch of shots from that tank. Sat there for a few hours with Paul Loiselle and Oliver Lucanus over the couple days...taking photos.

still don't get why that last fish was listed as uropthalmus?
Beautiful shots Mo and I agree, they do look much better in the pics with the horrible hotel lighting.

My pleasure.:)
Without a doubt the nicest CA cichlid in the entire show. Owned by cichlid show legend Ron Georgeone....Nandopsis beani. Winner of the Mike Sheridan tankbuster award. The fish came F0 from Rusty. I have a breeding pair in my tank with fry right now. This bad boy was about a foot long,

I was very impressed with this fish. First time I had ever seen one that size really. I too thought it was one of the nicer show fish this year.

Nice shots of beauties Mo! ;) But then, would we come to expect any less in quality of both fish and photos??
I'd love to see a photo of your Rio Carolina Zonatums as they are now Mo!! ;)

I took some photos of the fish in the big marineland tank...but literally took only a handful of NON CA cichlids. I do have one in particularly you will enjoy.

Wow what beautiful fish photos! I am new to the cichlid website & having cichlid pets. I didn't know there were pet fish that looked like this. I would love to paint some of your photographs in watercolor if you'd let me.

I apologize for the suboptimal image quality (the show room lighting was on the dark side), but here is a YouTube video of some of the outstanding cichlids captured by Mo's exquisite photography: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIiqk3hCQqk

I posted a bunch of these in the CA section. These are a variety of other fish taken in the various tanks throughout the show.

Fantastic pictures! Man, I love your work! And I was so happy to see the Lyonsi the first thing because I wrote an essay about species extinction and I used them as as one of the examples. Anyways, great shots!
