i have been doing alot of research on these fish and i just purchased 9 of them 6 females and 3 males my hopes are too breed them and sell the fry to the cichlid fanatics in my area due to the lack of this species of cichlid. i currently have them housed in a 60 gallon tank with a sump filtration, ciclhlid subtrate, air bubbler, and some tank mates like barbs and tetras the only reason i did that was an article i read said to put dither fish in there so the kribs wont beat up on eachother. i have had these fish in here now for about a week and a female has already paired up with the dominate male and they are protecting a cave. they have been dpoing this now for a few days. the female had already did her dance and quivering and her belly is pretty big and pink and lured him in there but i cant see that well into the cave to see if she laid eggs. so it leaves me to ask what do i do know that these fish paired up do i leave the tank mates and kribs in there with the pair or do i remove all but the pair and are these signs of her laying eggs and him fertilizing them. if not what can i do so she will lay her eggs and have fry . Any info on this will help greatly anyone bred these fish before or an expert on the kribs
thank you
