I was just wondering. I keep a

few Victorians and was considering an addition to diversify my breeders and potentially add a few

new species to what I am doing. Please post a list of what you have or might have available.

Right now for Vics I have:
Pundamilia igneopinnis (Black & Orange Hap)
Hap. sp. "Kenya Gold"

That is all right now. I am fairly new to them. But, I really enjoy them and I think I will

probably add a chromogynos to the list in the future. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

somewhat rare.

Led, would you like to trade some Pundamilia igneopinnis fry for the X. phtophagus?

Bob, I haven't had much

luck with them yet. I had one good spawn and then I didn't have a free tumbler. So, I tried a

mason jar like Jim in Adel. Didn't have any luck with that. In the near future I am hoping

for a better go round. I had some good and bad luck recently though. Stripped about 25 of the

blue neons already. 15 were free swimming so I put them in a breeder net....the parents chewed

them up through the net. The other 10 yolky guys are doing okay though. Still sucks a

bit!!!

Yes Led. That sucks a lot.

Was trying to raise C. stappersi and left them in a hard plastic breeder's box. First batch

gone. Well a fish jumped in box then out. Next batch there were a couple of heads in box.

Watched the fish come up to slits on box and suck the fry right through the slits. It was

disturbing.

Good luck with fry. Goin to Canada in June. Spencer had some Pundamilia

igneopinnis. May track them down while there and bring them back.

Well, if I get some I will

split the batch between JLGMA, Malawione, and yourself. Those two have asked also. If the spawns

are as big as last time it shouldn't be a huge deal...everyone should get 7 or so at least I

would bet. Pretty nice spawns if I can get one like the last. I just joined a Vic forum on Yahoo.

The one guy has a ton of different Vics. I might get some Tomatoes from him. His look very

nice.

I have had the same thing

happen with the breeder boxes.I came up with a solution that has worked 100% of the time for me.I

have a large fish net 8 inchesx5 inches.I bend the handle so it sits in the tank at the top, then

float the breeder box in the net.Nothing gets in and no fry get sucked through the slots.
You

have to tweek the net around abit and put front edge of the net under the hood to balance it.The

lid of the tank will close with a small gap for the thickness of the net.I haven't lost a

single fry to predation using this trick.

Led,

Will bring

some Xystichromis phytophagus fry for you if want. There must be sixty here. Males are stunning

when breeding. Fearless too. They will take over the tank when the time is ripe.

I was going to the meeting

Bob, but Chel's parents recently sold their house. They decided that the 7th was THE day they

just had to move out. So, the family is getting together to help. My brother-in-law is actually

leaving DM to come this way to help out. His family will probably get there Friday night. Should

be a fun sweaty day...not a fishy day! http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif Joe was thinking about going, but he isn't sure. He

hasn't found anything advertised that he has to have yet. So, he may pass and not go. If he

does decide to go I will let you know. If so, are you interested in any Hap. sp. Kenya Gold fry???

I have a few, but they are small. People have been lining up to get them. Let me know.
