I believe Claudia has been in touch with the organizers of this shipment.

I happy to post that the following species have arrived in the US. The fish range in size from fry to 4". Within the next few months expect to see some fry for sale as the colonies become acclimated with their curators. The fish were shipped from Germany (after a Volcano delay) by Marco Welss. Special thanks to Axel, Thomas, Albin, Arne, Jorg, and anyone I may have forgot from Cichlidenwelt IgV conservation group in Europe. It is through their mighty efforts along with Dr. Seehausen and many curators throughout Europe (shout out to haplochromis.org for their conservation efforts as well), that these species are even available.
More details can be found at Cichlids of Victoria (http://www.cichlidsofvictoria.com/) as they become available.

Not to forget anyone, a very big thank you to the administrators at Cichlids of Victoria for taking on the responsability of organizing, receiving, and distributing the rare fish.
Thank you Allen, Big Jim and tr6.

All we have to do now is get all these fish to their new keepers. We had a small amount of DOA's, but that was expected with a shipment this large. We are going to let them rest for a week or two before shipping them out to their new homes.

Hello!

I have completed the video!

Thank you for the kind words. This project has been fruitful, very trying at times but fruitful all the same. I see TeknikAL beat me to posting the list ;)

Here are the videos of the actual fish the only species not doing so well right now is the Neochromis sp. "Bihiru scraper". We are currently sitting at 3 alive and 1 is very dark appearing to still feel stressed.

We have only one more box to ship out, and we will be done. With only 3 DOA's on all the other shipment, I would say this has been a great success. :D

If you poke around Cichlids of Victoria, there are some lists with the owners who are members of that site. The site principles organized the buy, so the people who got the fish are pretty much all members of that site.
I have had some luck with my P. chilotes Zue Island. but I already started a list....

Just joined their site but either it is down or something
I would love to grab some of these puppies.
I have been wanting to help with some of these rarer types with my little buddy but I can't get a call back from our CARES group

Victorians really aren't my cup of tea but I must admit they are some nice looking fish. Good luck to everyone participating in the program and I hope to see a lot of these fish in next years BAP program!

Most of the fish that came were fry, when we unpacked them Im pretty sure that I got the only near adults.
Many people are having spawns now. So go to COV and contact the members that have the species you are interested in.

I have been looking at site:
They have some major Spam on the site, could be cause of problems there having.

There are a few species on the list I would happily give tank space over to, however, by the time I get to US they will have been sold on. Such a shame.
Unless there is a cunning plan for a kind soul to house them for me until the latest ACA convention. ......

We are working on the forum daily trying to fix the problems. The spam is the owners of the forums kids band. He is just promoting his kids band. This is not causing the problems on the forum

The agreement we had with the members involved in the shipment was to make sure eveyone got the species they wanted. So the first couple rounds of fry went to the members that were involved in the shipment. We are now seeing more of the fry being open up to the members of the forum. I have sent some fry to to a member of the ACA CARES already. As summer come around I can see more fry going out to the CARES program.

I should have more P chilotes Zue Island soon...
Have about 70 to 100 with 30 - 60 going out this week. Hard to tell how many we actually have, as we collect spawn, we grew them out with peacocks and such where space was available. As we sell the peacocks, groups of 15 to 20 sort of show up...
hehe a little disorganized with this exotic species among the commercial grow outs in the several hundred tanks and ponds at the hatchery.

I don't think its a windows 7,xp or vista issue.
i have 3 notebooks running 3 different OS and 2 different desktops, i don't have any problems.
we are still trying to figure it out but we don't have answers from the software builders yet.
our other site works just fine.

I am shipping my first batch of 1" fish today Paralabidochromis chilotes Zue Island.
They are going to very dedicated breeders, and to the CARES program for distribution. I hope all goes well. In my experience, these fish are very hardy and should make the trip.
Thanks COV's Allen and Jim in the US and Axel, Marco, Albin and the Cichlidwelt IgV in der DE for the Herculean effort in putting together the shipment.

I think I will be BAPing them with HCCC as well. It has been their members' dedication to providing information & connections to international experts for cichlid fish from all hemispheres to the US.

Many thanks to all who have been involved in this project.

How excellent to see a solid base stock of a good number of conservation priority species created in the tanks of hobbyists due to your diligence.

We so look forward to your continued progress!

All my Best,
Claudia

good to see some victorian keepers here too, thanks to one Mr Anton Lamboj who has a small conservation project ongoing here in Ireland, I have now a colony of F1 Pundamilia nyererei "Ruti Island" which are powering along and breeding regularly for a few of us here in Ireland, and better still i will be getting my hand soon on more F1 fish soon from the same project

...and to the CARES program for distribution...

Many thanks to Allen (teknikAL), a colony of Paralabidochromis chilotes 'Zue Island' are here in Iowa. I really like these fish. I will be breeding them long term and making them available to anyone interested in registering them with a CARES program (be it ACA CARES or another CARES club).

Allen selflessly brought these fish in to help preserve them in the hobby, as did some others of the COV group. Due to recent events that betrayed Allen's selflessness, I have decided that until these fish are well established in the US hobby with trusted breeders, I will ONLY distribute fry through a CARES program.

It will be some time before they are available but if you want, I'll put you on a list. Please contact me here through PM if you are an ACA CARES member. If your local club has a CARES program please see your CARES Support team to put in a request.

Thank you Allen, and the others at COV that brought in some species that were not yet available here in the US. I missed out on that shipment and to those COV guys who have traded/sold me fish, Thank you!

Peace,
~Troy
