Forced breeding? Wowsers.... maybe they are having a hard time performing under pressure.....
Just kidding, do a little research and try to imitate the natural surroundings as close as you can. I'm not too familiar with Central/South Americans but water changes water changes and water changes! One of the best "breeding" strategies I've found is leaving them (fish in general) alone for a few days and totally ignoring them! Good luck with them!

No personal expierence but have heard the following:
skip one or two water changes
no food for a week
80% water change, replacement water should be cooler and have markedly reduced TDS
abunduant food supply including live foods

W H O O H O O ! ! ! Maybe coincidence but l doubt it....
W O W.... MEGA thanks Guy, Success! i also tried it with my partners oscars
and B A M !!! both GHF and Oscars have spawned.
Since we've had both species since the 3cm mark l know its their 1st spawn so l dont really expect either pair to look after the fry and therefore get anything from it, but the fact that l now know we have 100% pairs makes me very happy indeed.
Thx mate

pics of Oscars were taken 2 weeks ago and the GHF at the same time but they had just been seperated from the colony and so they were'nt to happy...

The oscars ended up spawning on the top right corner of the rockwall as l didnt get the terracotta dish into the tank in time. The dish was in the tank for GHF before they were so they spawned on the dish:D
