View Full Version : Cryptoheros panamensis

Well, it looks like I'm stuck on the genus Cryptoheros. :)

A good friend gave me a 5 subadult C. panamensis. These fish have been very rear in the hobby and I have no idea why. Size, temperament and easy maintenance make these cichlids perfect for the aquarium. Any of the Cryptoheros are.

Great fish!! Like you said Klaus, No idea why they arent so popular. Wednesday night I just dropped a group of spectacular looking adults to Jeff Rapps so hopefully he will have some fry available in the near future. I kept the dominate breeding pair for myself and they are currently the largest cichlids in one of my 220gallon setups :confused:
