Just wondering how

large those guys really are? Down here in Texas we had the FOTSA / TCA (Texas Cichlid Association)

Show and Auction this past weekend. They had 4 pairs of Discus that came from Germany and these

suckers were atleast 9-10in in diameter, and they were very bright in color. All pairs were

different and they were going for $225-$250pr. Suposedly they were $400 each and the

guy that brought them donated them to the club. Man I sure wished I had a camara so I could show

you these fish. I remember going and seeing Discus in pet stores and them saying x-lrg. YEAH

RIGHT!!!! I guess these were

Hans has some very big fish he

imports from Germany, but there's not a 10" discus on the planet, a CD is 5 1/2 inches for

a reference. Those big German fish run 6.5-7" Biggest discus I have ever seen was 8" and

I've seen 100,000's of adult breeder discus in Asia. No one is going to pay $400 for

Hey I am not messing

around when I said these guys were 9-10in I am looking at a cd right now and they were 2 almost 3

times bigger than that. I have not seen many discus myself, hell I have been breeding african

cichlids for 6 years now and I just bought my first 3 discus Sunday all 3 for a whole $11.00

Red Turquoise Discus about 2.5-3in ea and they were going cheap. Man I wish I could have gotton a

picture of them. I think a couple people in the TCA around Dallas bought some the minimum was

$200 a pr and every pr sold for more than that. Hey if anybody here was at the TCA auction

this last weekend please back me up on how big these Discus where.

Hi, Not saying they

weren't big fish, Hans has some of the largest available on the market right now, But there are

NO 10 inch discus on the planet, I'll guarantee you that! They just don't get that big,

Pull a tape on one of those big boys and you'd be surprised. (We also measure discus without

the tail) LOL. Ken

Those

are big discus. They are all of 8" but not likely 10". John has four of those pairs,

ask him to measure them and settle it.
Hans claims his employer has a giant discus in Germany

but he did not have an image of it during his talk.
