If the meds don't work in time and lose majority of the fish; should you just start the whole tank over again? This has just happened to me in the past two days. I have never had this issue ever and bought a puffer fish for fun. Big mistake. They carry parasites.
I have lost majority of my Herotilapia Multispinosa. Should I just start over???
normal water changes 50% every 2-3weeks.
In the summer my tanks routinely get to 100 degrees whatever the temp outside is my AQ temp and with it getting to 100+ degrees for several days several times a summer I have never lost a fish to heat exhaustion. It was my observance that when i fed minnows to some fish years back before i knew better that in the summer when some i knew had ick from the bait store i would throw those out but as you know there all others that have it but can't been seen to the naked eye. but my fish would never show signs of ick in the summer BUT in the fall and winter they would sometimes get ick from these minnows...One day i just cranked the heat up and it would be gone in no time....BTW I no longer feed any live fish
The salt was just on advise of a my local fish biologist to help gill function it may also affect the ick parasite somewhat but i don't know for sure i've never asked the parasite:lol:
