When I took over these Discus from a friend, all I wanted is to see if I could keep them alive. Well, I guess I can...........

There are three Discus in the tank, two males and one female. I suspected for a while that the female paired up with one of the males but had no proof.
The spawning male was a busy boy. He had to keep the female happy and to fight his rival off.

Thank you everybody. Well, it was fun as long as it lasted. The eggs are gone http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v208/buntbarsch/smilies/icon_crying.gif

I did not expect them to hatch. It was their first spawn and the second male really gave them a hard time. However, with the exception of videos, I have never seen Discus spawn before and it was pretty amazing for me to be able to watch them.

Mine laid eggs a couple of weeks ago. It was the first time as well so the male went in right after the female and ate the eggs as she laid them. Hopefully they'll try again soon.
