One of my favorite models...Paratheraps zonatus. Here's a difference in lens focal length and angle. This first shot was done at a focal length of 35mm...and shot from a bottom up perspective. The fish looks very high bodied in this picture.

This shot was done with a 105mm lens from about fifteen feet from the tank. The shot was more from the top pointed down. The long focal length compresses the image. The effect is more prevalent because of the fish's angle toward the camera. Because of the high aperture used, both he front ad the back of the fish is in focus. This fish see the camera coming out and is always ready to pose.

The normally brilliant colored female Paratheraps synspilus is once again breeding. She's blocking the opening to the breeding site. While paler here than most of the pictures I have posted, the fish will get MUCH lighter when interacting with the male in the tank while breeding.

One of a couple hundred Convicts I have throughout the tanks. This particular fish is in with the Bredohri. While in most tanks, I do keep geographic variants separate in each tank. These particular convicts are all blessed with some beautiful long fins.

Three shots of the FO Parachromis managuense male. THe only thing that is unique here is that the female has chosen an alternate breeding site for the first time in three years. No idea why. She did clean the piece of slate used many times over the year. There are eggs in the pot. During this period the male goes on constant alert patrolling the tank.

I think the P. Zonatus is my favorite fish that you have! I especially like the shot on Wayne's column. Good stuff Mo.
