Hi. This is a new area

for you to find topics and conversations I feel of interest to ACA Forum members. Here's a copy

of a post I made on the Practical Fishkeeping Forum:

New here from the States- with a

request

Hi. I'm a moderator of the American Cichlid Association

(ACA) Forum <http://acaforum.com/index.php?act=home>. We're starting a new topic

highlighting what's new and exciting on the web in fish forum activities. I guess I'm the

one in charge of this, at least initially. Practical Fishkeeping's Forum is my first choice

for the forums I plan to visit regularly. I've posted links to articles in your NEWS section

periodically on our Forum. To those of us in the States, England and things English, are close in

thought yet exotic. If there's a thread or another forum you feel deserves a

"regular" visit please let me know by replying, please add why you feel the forum should

be on the list. I'd like to consider it. If there's a thread of note specifically directed

to cichlid fanciers, please send me a link. No spam please. Thanks, Dan Martin,

Houston, Texas, USA

If you have an idea of a fish

forum I should visit "regularly" to find more news or topics of interest to our members,

please reply here with a link to that forum. Please add the reason you feel the site is

significant. I chose the first. I'm waiting for suggestions from our members before adding

others to my list. Thanks for your help in establishing this new addition to our CLUB DISCUSSION

AREA. Dan

Dan, I will have to

get some time to look around. I am swamped lately.
I also want to answer some of the other

posts from PFK magazine. Good stuff!!!
Hopefully this weekend!

Blogs and blog round-ups

represent another way to do this.

For example, in the world of healthcare policy (my

other hat), a group of bloggers rotate doing a weekly "Health Wonk Review": a round-up of

the best blog posts, articles, and news from across the web, often with a short introduction /

explanation for context.

Here's an example of a pretty heavy one, more for form than

subject matter: http://www.joepaduda.com/archives/001327.html

As I pointed out in another thread a Google

search yields 319,000 responses. So far I've recieved 1 (yes, one) suggestion by PM. I

don't have time to do blogs too. God knows how many there are of those.

BTW,

"Fish Forum Round-up" probably would have been a better title for this thread.

I think this is a great idea.

I'm a moderator at a large planted tank board and the local club forums are very

active and increasing by the day. Many of them have exclusively started using that board as their

official place to talk business, so the same thing could happen here. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
