I love this fish, Bought two
pair and put them in a 125, bigger male ate smaller male first day, Week later bigger pair spawned
so I remove the other female, Bigger male kills mate, eats eggs and then jumps out. Left with one
female that died after being shown at last years ACA. Expensive lesson learned. Need 300 gallon
tank. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

My experience with this
fish was similar to fishfarm's. Bought six and put them in a 125; they spawned once and then
the killing began. I am now down to two who are only prevented from killing each other by the
eggcrate and escape-proof top on the 75g where they have been exiled following the fiasco in the
bigger tank. No wonder they're almost extinct.

When it comes to Paretroplus,
the old adage "the bigger, the better" springs to mind quickly.
Sorry you
lost those gorgeous fish.
