Sparks reexamined Pellegrin's original description of P. petiti and concluded it is not petiti.

He then assigned this fish to Paretropelus dambabe. Check the references in pinned topic. This

reference is online and may be purused.

Interestingly, Pellegrin's orginal

description of P. petiti refers to a fish with large black spot on flank. Hmmm, P. maculates has a
