Cichlid Association is proud to announce Mr. Bob Boone, from Hayward,

California, as our speaker on July 12, 2008.

Mr. Bob Boone has been

in the industry since about 1970 working part-time in a pet shop in Colorado. He designed a

tropical fish hatchery and converted a catfish farm using geothermal water in 1979 and he also ran

the facilities for one year.

In fact, Mr. Bob Boone started doing

wholesale in 1980 and helped design and build Colorado's first multi-tank recirculation systems

in 1981. He moved out to the bay area in 1986 where he worked for a wholesaler for four years then

he moved to Texas in 1990 and worked for Fritz Industries for six years (four years as general

manager of livestock operations for six warehouses and two years in R&D mostly working with

nitrifying bacteria).

In 1999, Mr. Robert Rodriguez and Mr. Bob Boone

started Aquatic Specialties And Pets (A.S.A.P) which is the biggest Northern California

wholesaler of marine and freshwater fish.

In total, Mr. Bob Boone has

designed the fish rooms for two stores, nine warehouses, and the geothermal fish hatchery.
