Haplochromis Sp. Ruby / Green

I recently purchased some

Haplochromis sp. "Ruby", they are young and just now starting to show colors.

The female

Haplochromis sp.ruby seems to be holding eggs or she has a really abscessed tooth(LOL) style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif . IF she looks that way in a few days. I plan on putting her in a ten gallon tank

by herself.

Yesterday, June 15, the

female released about twelve Haplochromis Sp. Ruby fry. She was in a ten gallon tank by herself, I

left her in the tank with the fry, as she looked a little worn from the experience. I feed her good

last night, before I turned off the lights.

Today, I could only find about 5 fry. I

don't know if she ate some of them or not. I put her back in with the male in the 25 gallon

tank.

I think next time , I'll remove the female right away from the fry. Have

began feeding what fry I have left with baby brine shrimp.

Rubies!!! I have a group of 10 and gave a trio to my brother to cut down agression. I

see that your has bred and your male is also colorng up nicely also. I have 2 males and 5 females

as of right now, while my brother has 1 male 2 females, where did you get yours at? I will try to

get pics of them and boy, they are amazing. Any updates also?

The fry are doing good, the only mistake I made

I should have removed her from the tank after she released all the fry.

and your brother will have luck with the fish you have. There easy to breed and there a beautiful

fish.

Yeah, mine have bred last

month already and bred again, I will have a lot of fry. I can't wait to grow them out, they are

simply amazing, my favorite victorians. I'll try to get pics when I go back home, I am in

Sacramento visiting my sister and her husband up here, while my fish are at home in Fresno. I

can't wait to go back and see my my fish. Where did you get your ruby greens at? I would love

to add more to my colony.

might want to do it before mid July. Something, tells me he might be taking a vacation to the peach

Up-Date:
Female back in a 10 gal tank, shes holding fry again in her

mouth. Glass was dirty, I was doing water changes. She should be releasing fry soon, has not eaten

anything in about a week.

Fry from last month are growing. I,ll try to get some better pictures.
