View Full Version : What Is Everyone Bringing To The Convention?

aquamojo

It was asked by another

member. I thought it would be a great place to post your name and see what fish you will be

bringing. If anyone is looking for a specific fish, post it here as well. At some point close to

the convention I will do a mass e-mail to the members with a link back to the thread.

I

will pin the topic as well.

Good thing you didn't

advertise a zebra breeding colony, poor old Mo's style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif heart might not have taken the shock.(LOL) style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

There is a breeding colony on aquabid right now. Asking price is $23000. Plus you have

to pay to get the fish shipped into the states.

I liked it alot better when they were 40

bucks in the petshop.

I don't feel that bad. I

have three of them in various tanks. I'm just going to take a little better care of them from

now on. LOL

I don't think I've ever

seen Zebra Plec's at a convention before - cool!

I know a few years ago when I

was looking for one the average price was somewhere around $700, and that was if you

could win the bid....

I just recently

saw a post for an LFS that brought in a small group of zebra plecos. $499 each, ranging from 2

1/2-4" first come, first serve. That's in Ontario, but seeing as the dollar is basically

the same, that tells me the lfs price is $500.

I just kick myself when I had the

chance to get these guys originally for $50 for wilds. That was so expensive for me then. A

friend bought the group and promptly killed them. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif

Plans change, as of right

now the plan is to bring 12 Caquetaia spectabilis, about 2" and donate to ACA endowment funds

auction. Possibly a few more fish too if room in box.

If you're asking if there are other types of

fish sold there, yes you do see things other than Cichlids. I've bought lots of Pleco's,

and even some Endler's one year.

awesome! thank you!

I may have things to bring in that case, not just buy...heehee

Suppose AAAA could change

auction rules
past rules have read non cichlids left for sale at auction are not eligible for

split. all non cichilds sold at auction are considered a donation.

penycat

lol yeah see that's the

sort of thing I need to know *blush* being my first this type of auction

Oops sorry, I was thinking

more of the sales in the tank rental room and what people sell out of their rooms, not the auction

itself.

Penycat, it would be cool if you brought some of your stuff anyway. The more,

the merrier.... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I'm bringing a bunch of

the "today in the fishroom" posters.

bobrfish
05-30-2008, 9:49 PM
Peny it is true that many

bring non cichlids to sell during convention. Even in rental tank room, there are 5 - 10 tanks

with non cichlids for sale. Best of luck, whatever you bring.

penycat

Thank you! I didn't

even think "out of room" sales, kind of like ACA black under the table market right?

glances around, here's your fish sir, you didn't get it from me lol sorry just

kidding weird dreams last night, weird mood in the morning:)

And aquamojo, if you bring

that one close up of the head of the colorful fish *blush* don't know the name, I'll buy

one for sure!
