I've failed (yet again) to

watch every game this World Cup. We had a power outage that cost me a first round game of Cote

d'Ivoire vs. Netherlands. Outside of that, I've seen every one. If there is one thing I

enjoy more than my fish, it is the beautiful game. 'Tis a pity fans are few and far between in

the US. It is getting better, though. New Orleans right now is a hotbed of soccer fever. The

better game start times is helping. Perhaps in 2010 I'll make it to South Africa ... any good

cichlids to collect there? http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

PS - as a new ACA

member, I'm enjoying the forum - I recognize many of the names from other forums (and that is a

good thing!)

I love the World Cup, but I

also love the game.

I watched most of it. I have been a fan and a player and/or

coach since I was in the third grade. World cup is fun to watch every four years... but the

strategy is so defensive that the people who do not normally watch soccer get the impression that

ties and low scoring matches are normal for the sport. I prefer Premier League, Bundesleugue and

the MLS games... much faster and the teams are more willing to risk allowing a goal.
