Duane,
I am new
to cichlids and didn't recognize any of the fish you listed (I only have Malawi and looked into
some Tangs) so I did some research. The Ptychochromis oligacanthus is endangered and the
Paretroplus menarambo is extinct in the wild. Keep breeding them.

I'm into
developing new albino peacocks, as I have developed an albino OB Eureka Red Peacock and a albino
Eureka Gold Peacock. The Eureka Gold Peacock 'sparkles' under high light intensity, almost
like a pearlscale angel. The albino OB Eureka Red is an improved form of the albino Eureka Red
Peacock, as it has a darker red body color. I have also developed an absolutely beautiful OB
Peacock line, called 'OB Eureka Red' Peacock. I'm also trying to create an albino
Yellow Lab, which I hope to have within 3-4 months when the fry are old enough to breed. Will see
what happens!

Duane,
Be sure to post what set up you are using and any water
parameters you can provide. It would be helpful for anyone else who is trying to breed these fish.
Maybe someone can provide a little tweaking to help you along also.

The menarambo and lamena are
housed in a 150 gal, pH 7.5, conductivity about 3000mS, salinity about 1.5 ppthousand, 78'F
filtered by a planted sump and homemade protein skimmer with a 1200GPH pump. They share the tank
with some Geo altifrons and constantly spawning T bythobates, fed with veggie high content
foods.
The Ptychos spawned in a 65 run with the same perameters, except the salinity is a
little higher, (3.5 ppt). This tank is in line with a 100 gal that contains some Geo pell/stein(?)
and Stomatepia pindu.
I know protein skimmers are not supposed to work in fresh water, but
the normal tank turbidity is usually around 0.5 (fairly clear) NTU and the waste water from the
skimmer can get as high as 350NTU(dark green), so I know its getting rid of lots of undesirable
stuff.

Hi All,
I am
currently in Iraq, lol. But at home I am breeding Wild Cyphotilapia "Moba" Gibberosa
(Frontosa), had a spawn a couple of months before I left, so therefore I have a group of juvies
growing from that spawn, over 3" now. Mom held full term, after lots of practice http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif .
Also, I ( by stating "I"
I mean my wife taking care of all the fish while I am away)am breeding Wild Altolamprologus
Compressiceps "Goldhead."

Just a little
update, My wife had an eventful day with the fish yesterday.
She woke up to find that
the goldhead comps had fry in the clay burrito
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b200/TJCichlid/503894382207_0_BG.jpg
But, unfortunately later in the day, I had a peacock hybrid of
some sorts that I bought on a whim at the lfs while I was home on leave. I don't know why, I
just thought he would be fine seeing it was a 300 gallon. Well, he fought with the mama comp and no
more fry later in the day. During a water change, my wife put the hybrid peacock in a bucket of
tank water. After the change she looked at him and he was already dead? from the fight, maybe?
He was a nice looking guy, but I was relieved because he cause to much ruckuss in the tank.
Ok, now here is the good ending, lol.
For one, now that the comps are breeding
in the burrito, I am sure this will not be the last.
And two....... through all this going on
in the tank, during the water change, my wife found a moba frontosa fy in the parent tank. He looks
to be close to two months out of the females mouth.
Sorry for the blurry pic, my wife
said she coul not get a good picture?
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b200/TJCichlid/439077582207_0_BG.jpg
So, needless to say, I am very happy to see my female front has
held full term and released in the parent tank. They have been breeding for about 1 1/2 years, and
I let the females try to hold all times, except once, I was curious and put two eggs in the
tumbler. ONe female held the whole term, like mentioned in my earlier post. http://cichlid.ipbhost.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

Perhaps the most recent
spawn is firemouths. I have about six in the tank. One was getting beat up so he was pulled.
Then I noted four fish had formed tag teams. Two on each side of tank. All four would meet in

spawned.

I'll attempt to get
shots of the rest shortly.</div>
Wow, the Hemichromis are
both spawning already? That didn't take long! Now to get the S. cf. casuarius going.

big tank for these and some other suitable tank mates!</div>
Mr Firemouth-- thanks for the welcome. I realy love the gentle giants, can't get
enough. I currently have them(7 5/f 2/m) in a 180 gallon. Working on getting a camera, maybe santa
will get good to me this year. They are the ziare type which makes them deep blue. When I get the
pics I'll start that new thread so you can see them. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving, you take
care and God bless!!

Well, I let the first cristatus spawn go by
the wayside as I didn't actually see it happen & the most aggressive male in the tank was a
species 'Bangui'. I'm trying to discourage spawning @ present until more space opens
up but am making space for the cristatus to raise a batch or two.

I'm breeding
Rotkiel severums and have a cool hybrid project going to make rainbow king type flowerhorns. I am
on the first generation of Synspillum (dad) and king kong parrot (mom). I want to line breed the
generations to achieve a short body parrot type fish (without the blood parrot head), with
synspillum colors. The first generation is looking pretty cool. A lot of variation in the fry in
body type and color. THere are a few very unique beauties in there too. Can't wait to see what
the second generation will look like.

I am breeding
Geophagus steindachneri (female's holding her 3rd clutch now)
T. moorii "Mpulungu" came home from work tonight, and a female is holding. Just
got this colony last Sunday at the Atlanta Area Aquarium Association's auction.
I am
hoping I'll get a pair out of the six Uaru amphiacanthoides I have. They are the size
that I'm told they should be "getting down to business".
