A male pinstripe damba, probably the most seriously endangered Malagasy vertebrate. According to local fishermen, this undescribed Paretroplus species was formerly widely distributed in the Damoro and Betsiboka River basins. A relict population persists in a single oxbow lake near the village of Sarodrano. Photo by Paul V. Loiselle.
